"We should have been calmer to make sure of victory," said Paqueta. "In the end we have lost two points."

Paqueta added: "We showed two faces in this match. At first, we were nervous, we were scared of Tunisia.

"But at half-time I told them to attack down the wings and despite the late goal I was happy with the result."

Saudi Arabia's record-breaking striker Sami Al Jaber struck what he thought was the winner before an injury-time Tunisian 2-2 equaliser.

But he insisted that his team's World Cup hopes are still on track.

"We were unlucky to let a goal in one minute before the end. Now we have one point," he said.

"It is not the end of the competition for us. We have to work hard against Ukraine.

"I am still recovering from a thigh injury but I will do everything possible to recover to be ready for that match."

Saudi midfielder Mohammed Ameen added: "Our second half performance will motivate us to play equally well against Ukraine.
