Scolari found it hard to motivate his players |
Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari insisted he was pleased with his side's efforts despite them failing to claim third place in the World Cup. The Portuguese finished the tournament in fourth place after being comfortably beaten 3-1 by the host nation Germany.
And the Brazilian said: "I feel satisfied and glad with the way things have turned out overall.
"At the end, even by ending on a defeat, we're still one of the best four teams in the world."
He added: "Germany played very well and was more efficient than we were.
"We lacked effectiveness in front of goal and we lacked quality and precision in our shots.
"We had some chances, but we didn't take them like Germany did."
