Paraguay goalkeeper Justo Villar's World Cup appears to be over after he pulled a calf muscle in his side's opening Group B game against England. Villar, 28, left the field in tears after damaging his leg attempting a sliding clearance eight minutes into Saturday's 1-0 defeat in Frankfurt.
"He will be out for a minimum of two weeks, probably three," Paraguay coach Anibal Ruiz said.
Aldo Bobadilla replaced Villar and is expected to continue to deputise.
Villar, who plays for Argentine side Newell's Old Boys, said: "The moment that I got injured was the hardest part of it.
"If I had to be injured I would much rather it have been before the match or after it.
"It affected me a lot the fact that I had to leave like this right in the beginning."
But Villar had confidence in his replacement Bobadillo - who made several fine saves - and third choice keeper Derlis Gomez.
"Aldo and Derlis are very good players and can get the job done," he said.
