Drogba scored Ivory Coast's first goal at a World Cup finals |
Ivory Coast coach Henri Michel wants his team to work on their strengths after a 2-1 defeat by Argentina in their opening World Cup game. Didier Drogba's 82nd-minute consolation came too late after the debutants went two down in the first half.
"The players are disappointed but we should not focus on the negative," said Frenchman Michel.
"We should try to look at this match and analyse things and work with confidence so our scoring gets better."
Goals from Hernan Crespo and Javier Saviola rocked the Ivorians, but they managed to pierce the middle of Argentina's defence despite attempts to stifle them in midfield.
Slack finishing up front and lapses in defensive concentration ultimately cost them in Hamburg, and Michel will look for improvement in their next match on Friday against Holland.
"Now we have to work on our strengths and hope we can do better against Netherlands," said Michel.
