Van der Sar broke the Dutch record on Wednesday with his 112th cap |
Holland goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar said he was unhappy after his side failed to break the deadlock in the 0-0 draw with Argentina. The result saw the Dutch qualify in second place from Group C, setting up a potential quarter-final with England.
"I'm not satisfied," said Van der Sar. "We wanted to win the group but I think Argentina made it difficult for us.
"In the second half we came into the game a little bit more and had some half-chances."
The match was historic for the Manchester United goalkeeper as he equalled Frank de Boer's Dutch record of 112 caps at international level.

"I'm at least happy I kept a clean sheet and played my 112th match for Holland and equalled the record," added Van der Sar. Holland now face Portugal in the second round, the winner of which meets England or Ecuador in the last eight.
And looking ahead to the remainder of the tournament, Van der Sar said: "We tried everything but we couldn't take any risks with players on yellow cards.
"In this tournament with referees you never know what you're going to get."
Dutch coach Marco van Basten afterwards admitted Argentina had put his side "in a corner several times".
"I have seen progress in my team tonight. Argentina are a high quality team and they are playing 'Top of the Pops' football," he said.
"But at the end we could have won the game although that would have been too far. But it was a good performance.
"We can be satisfied with the result. We wanted to win the game and play good football. Now we play against Portugal who are an excellent team. But also we are not bad."
