England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson was pleased by Michael Owen's return to first-team action after England B lost 2-1 to Belarus at Reading. Owen has been out of action for five months with a metatarsal injury.
Eriksson said: "Michael Owen did well for one hour, more or less. He is fit. We didn't want him to play any more."
Owen added: "The foot felt fine. I was never worried about by fitness. I feel sharp, I can't feel my foot and I'm pleased I played for the 60 minutes."
Eriksson was also delighted that senior players like Ashley Cole and Sol Campbell played for 90 minutes, with the World Cup only two weeks away.
"The senior players looked fit - and that is very important," stated Eriksson.

"Ashley Cole and Sol Campbell played 90 minutes and Peter Crouch looked very well."
Eriksson added: "I think Aaron Lennon was very, very good - very confident.
"Theo Walcott didn't look shy at all - that's very good.
"Michael Carrick did well and Jermaine Jenas and Stuart Downing were very good.
"This team had never played together - we had bad luck with both goals, particularly the first, but there are positives.
"It's important all members of the squad got some action."
