Ecuador have won their two opening Group A games under Suarez |
Ecuador have offered their Colombian coach Luis Suarez a new four-year deal. Suarez, 46, has guided Ecuador to the last 16 of the World Cup for the first time in their history.
"There is an offer on the table for me to continue in the post for the next four years," said Suarez, who has been in the job since September 2004.
"For the moment I'm not going to let that preoccupy me," added Suarez. "The only thing that I'm focused on at the moment is Ecuador and the World Cup."
Ecuador face World Cup hosts Germany in their final Group A match on Tuesday to decide who tops the table, with the South Americans leading on goal difference.
Suarez took up coaching aged just 29 after winning the Copa Libertadores as a player with Colombian side Atletico Nacional in 1989.
Ecuador will play either 1966 winners England or 1958 finalists Sweden in the second round.
