Ecuador coach Luis Suarez says his players must learn the lessons of their 3-0 defeat by Germany on Tuesday. The South American team impressed in their first two matches, with convincing wins over Poland and Costa Rica, but were outplayed by Germany.
"We need to improve if we want to go any further in this World Cup. I am disappointed because we did not play a good match." Suarez said.
"We can learn a lot and hopefully won't make the same mistakes again."
Suarez added: "Germany played a great match. It was not what we have expected and we did not play as well as in the first two matches.
"Everybody played badly so we will have to make a huge progress in order not to repeat them."
Germany were 2-0 up at half-time thanks to two goals from Miroslav Klose.
"It was a very difficult task for us to solve our problems in the first half," Suarez said.
"They were more practically-minded today."
