So if you're a keen football fan, and want easy access to our latest World Cup content, you select the 'On' mode.

But equally, if you'd rather avoid the football, you can turn the World Cup mode 'Off' and be offered links to a range of other BBC programmes and online content over the next few weeks.
This means that people who want to stay in the World Cup loop can do so easily via the bbc.co.uk homepage, and those who don't will be able to access other things besides the football.
