Substitute Emerse Fae scored two minutes after coming on to earn Ivory Coast a draw against fellow World Cup competitors Switzerland. The Swiss took the lead in the first half when the unmarked Tranquillo Barnetta smashed in from 10 yards.
But, with only a few minutes of the second half gone, the Ivorians equalised in the Cup warm-up when Fae fired in a fierce shot from 30 yards.
Blerim Dzemaili and Alex Frei went close for the Swiss.
"Switzerland let us play football and like them we needed a high quality match," said Ivory Coast coach Henri Michel.
"This is a good base to build from for us and I would imagine the same would apply to them.
"Switzerland and ourselves are just starting our preparation and we have two weeks to get the details right."
Swiss coach Kobi Kuhn had words of praise for his opponents.
"Ivory Coast are definitely the best team in Africa," said Kuhn.
"They showed they are very strong," added a coach who is revered in Switzerland after steering them country to its first World Cup for twelve years.
