Sue Smith scored twice as England ended their Cyprus Cup campaign with a 2-0 win over South Korea.
The Lincoln left-winger opened the scoring in the 16th minute and grabbed a second 10 minutes from time.
It was a deserved victory for Hope Powell's team, although after finishing third in their group they ended the 12-nation tournament in fifth place.
"We controlled most of the game, we attacked well and it was good to finish on a high," said Powell.
"We've got better as the tournament's gone on and, although we've missed chances in every game, we've continued to create openings and that's a positive.
"Sue's first goal today was a bit fortuitous, but her second was really well taken and she almost got a hat-trick so I'm pleased for her."
Before opening the scoring Smith had wasted a glorious fourth-minute chance, taking the ball past goalkeeper Min Kyung Jun but then shooting wide of the empty net.
The winger made amends somewhat luckily, curling in a low cross that evaded everyone in the penalty area to creep inside the far post.
As South Korea hit back, striker So Yun Ji flashed an 18-yard drive narrowly wide.
But England were in control and just after the half-hour mark forward Eni Aluko fired in a 20-yard effort that Jun had to save just beneath the crossbar.
Powell's team continued to press but struggled to create any clear-cut openings before Smith grabbed her second goal.
Jinking in from the right to sweep past her marker, the winger arrowed a 15-yard drive beyond the dive of Jun to wrap up victory.
England ended the tournament a place lower than Scotland, who had finished second in their group but on finals day lost 3-0 to France in the third-place play-off.
Northern Ireland, in their first Cyprus Cup appearance, went down 2-1 to Switzerland to finish the tournament in bottom place.
Powell's England will now have two friendlies, against the United States and Sweden, ahead of the World Cup finals in Germany during June and July.
Powell said: "This tournament has been a big help in our preparations for the World Cup.
"We've tried a few new things, I've been able to look closely at players and all-in-all it's been very good for our build-up."
