Key midfielder Smith left Arsenal to join Boston Breakers in the US

England women's head coach Hope Powell has named a strong 22-player squad for the upcoming Cyprus Cup.

The squad includes Kelly Smith, Karen Carney, Alex Scott and Anita Asante, who all recently signed deals to play in the United States league.

England are joint hosts of the event, along with Scotland and Holland, and play South Africa first on 5 March.

England will use the event as continued preparation for the European Championships in Finland in August.
