Brazilian star Marta hit four goals as Arsenal were thrashed 6-0 in the second leg of their Uefa Women's Cup quarter-final as Umea won 8-3 on aggregate.
After scoring in the first minute Marta got her second goal just before the interval, before completing her hat-trick 60 seconds into the second half.
Striker Hanna Ljungberg put the Swedish side 4-0 up, with Marta bagging her fourth just before the hour mark.
Umea keeper Ulla-Karin Ronnlund made it 6-0 with a penalty to really rub it in.
"We've never lost a match by six goals before," said Arsenal manager Vic Akers, who is due to step down at the end of the season.
"We were on the back foot from the first minute when Marta put them in front.
"We missed three good chances in the first half, but they scored again just before and just after half-time and we couldn't respond.
"We caved in, and it hurts me to say that about an Arsenal team. It's a massive blow, especially after winning the first leg."
Marta figured only as a late substitute in the first leg at Borehamwood last week as she was suffering from a hip injury.
But the 22-year old World Player of the Year, despite not being fully recovered, made light of the problem on her own team's ground as Arsenal were put to the sword.
The win was sweet revenge for the Swedes, who in the 2007 final were beaten by Arsenal as Akers' team became the first British team to lift the trophy.
