Three days after Arsenal retained the Women's Premier League title Everton clinched second place with a convincing 6-0 win at relegated Charlton Athletic.

The Gunners, meanwhile, maintained their unbeaten League record with a 5-1 trouncing of Blackburn Rovers.

Leeds United guaranteed third place with a hard-earned goalless draw at fourth in the table Bristol Academy.

Arsenal clinched their fifth league title in succession on Thursday when they beat Chelsea 4-1.

Charlton Athletic 0-6 Everton

Three first half goals set Everton up for a comfortable victory which stretched their unbeaten league run to 12 matches.

After midfielder Fara Williams and full-back Becky Easton had found the net, a Jay Blackie own goal made the game safe for the Toffees.

The goals continued coming after the break, Williams notching a second then striker Natasha Dowie putting her name on the scoresheet.

Left winger Jo Potter, like Williams a former Charlton player, completed the scoring nine minutes from time.

Arsenal 5-1 Blackburn Rovers

Following a 13th-minute opener by midfielder Jayne Ludlow the visitors held out until after the half-hour - but they were then blitzed in a spell of three goals in two minutes.

Captain Faye White, Ludlow with her second of the afternoon and Blackburn defender Natalie Brewer with an own goal extended the lead to 4-0 by the interval.

Denise Campbell hit her first league goal of the season to reduce the arrears 15 minutes into the second half.

But 11 minutes later Lianne Sanderson bagged her 25th league goal of the campaign to restore the home side's four-goal advantage.

Bristol Academy 0-0 Leeds United

In an evenly contested game of few chances, both Jessica Fishlock and Gwennan Harries went close for Academy.

But Emily Scott almost snatched victory for Leeds when she took advantage of a mistake by goalkeeper Laura Barnes-Ellis - only for the keeper to make a scrambled save.
