Arsenal vice-captain Jayne Ludlow has heaped praise on her male counterparts for their role in the ladies' success.

Last season's quadruple winners are still on course for a Premier League and FA Cup double this year.

The midfielder, 29, told BBC London 94.9: "We're probably the only club in the country that get that privilege.

"The respect we get from the men and the help we get financially and training facilities is brilliant. Long may it continue."

The Wales Ladies international added: "It's only good for the women's game in the future."

Ludlow has also urged fans not to let last season's record-breaking feat overshadow what has been an otherwise successful campaign.

"Because of the exploits last year there is going to be a bit of disappointment in the air, bbut realistically we can't go and win the European Cup every year," she said.

"So I think if we do manage to pick up two trophies this year, it will be a good season for us."
