Lady Imps set for title showdown

Lincoln City Ladies
Lincoln City Ladies could be two games away from promotion

The FA Women's Northern division title will be decided on 13 April, when Nottingham Forest and Lincoln City ladies play their final matches.

The Lady Imps host Aston Villa while Forest take on Sheffield Wednesday.

Forest currently lead the table by three points, but have played one game more than Lincoln.

Chairman Geoff Adams told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "Neither us or Forest will know each other's position, so it will be very exciting."

Both matches have been rescheduled after the original fixtures were postponed.

Lincoln City Ladies will play their game in hand a week earlier, away at Sunderland who are third in the Northern division.

"It's an incredibly difficult task but we feel we are capable of going there and taking three points," said Adams.

"Assuming we do that, then it's all to play for. If we can get a ground full of supporters against Villa then I'm sure they can cheer us on to a really good result, which could mean the title for us and promotion to the national division."
