Lady Imps prepare for Villa test

Lincoln City Ladies
Lincoln City Ladies could be two games away from promotion

Lincoln City Ladies' manager Rod Wilson says a strong display in Sunday's final home game of the season against Aston Villa is vital to their title hopes.

With two matches to go the Lady Imps are level on points with top of the table Nottingham Forest in the Northern division of the Women's Premier League.

"Villa are a high scoring side but they also concede a lot of goals," Wilson told BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

"Forest's goal difference is one better than us so we've got to catch up."

The Lady Imps will be without the injured Kerry Smith and Carla Ward for the match at Collingham and although Wilson admits their absence is a blow he says promotion to the National division is still in the team's hands.

"We're confident we can win the last two games and hopefully that will be enough for us to win the league."
