Ane Stangeland Horpestad celebrates her winner |
Former World Champions Norway rallied from a goal down to beat Canada in their Women's World Cup opener. Canada took the lead when Christine Sinclair set up Candace Chapman to unleash a powerful right-foot shot.
Norway levelled soon into the second half when Ragnhild Gulbrandsen rose to plant home a towering header.
Another Gulbrandsen header proved too hot for Canada keeper Erin McLeod and Ane Stangeland Horpestad pounced to score for the 1995 winners.
