White will not take anything granted against Austria |
Arsenal defender Faye White has returned to the England squad for this month's World Cup qualifier against Austria at Gillingham. The 28-year-old, who missed the 0-0 draw with France in March through suspension, replaces Laura Bassett.
Coach Hope Powell made no other changes to her party for the Priestfield match on 20 April.
England lead Group Five by a point with Holland in second and France two points further back.
England played Austria last September, when they came back from a goal down to secure a 4-1 win.
However, White refuses to underestimate their Austrian opponents for the clash at the Priestfield Stadium.
"Sometimes people look at the world rankings and see that we are 13th and Austria are 45th," she said.
"But as they proved in Amstetten, if we aren't on our game, they have players who can punish us."
England squad: Rachel Brown (Everton), Siobhan Chamberlain (Bristol Academy), Laura Bassett (Birmingham), Lindsay Johnson (Everton), Mary Phillip (Arsenal), Alex Scott (Arsenal), Casey Stoney (Charlton), Rachell Unitt (Everton), Anita Asante (Arsenal), Katie Chapman (Charlton), Vicky Exley (Doncaster), Kelly Smith (Arsenal), Fara Williams (Everton), Eniola Aluko (Charlton), Amanda Barr (Charlton), Karen Carney (Birmingham), Jody Handley (Everton), Josanne Potter (Charlton), Sue Smith (Leeds), Rachel Yankey (Arsenal)
