Hibs boss John Collins said Donaldson was a great signing |
Hibernian have completed the signing of York striker Clayton Donaldson on a pre-contract agreement. The former Hull frontman, who has scored 18 goals in the Nationwide Conference this season, will move to Easter Road at the end of the season.
City recently refused six-figure bids from Scunthorpe, Accrington and Peterborough for the 22-year-old.
Hibs boss John Collins told the Edinburgh Evening News: "Clayton has pace, lots of pace."
City had fought to keep Donaldson at the KitKat Crescent, but are powerless to stop him leaving at the end of his contract this summer.
Collins said he was delighted the player was coming to Easter Road.
"He has scored goals in the past couple of seasons, albeit at a lower level," the Hibs boss said.
"He is two-footed, but there is plenty of room for improvement as he is still just a young lad."
