York City have rejected a bid from Accrington Stanley for top scorer Clayton Donaldson. City turned down a cash-plus player offer for the 22-year-old, who is the Conference's leading scorer with 18 goals so far this season.
Accrington then upped their bid to a six-figure fee but were told that the former Hull player was not for sale.
Peterborough failed with a 100,000 bid for Donaldson, whose current deal expires at the end of the season.
