Dolan is angry with the speculation |
York City manager Terry Dolan has vehemently denied that he is set to return to take charge of former club Rochdale. Press reports had linked Dolan with a move back to Spotland, where he was manager from 1989-91 and where there is a vacancy following the departure of Paul Simpson.
However, Dolan insists he has no intention of ending a three-and-a-half-year stay at York, who just missed out on the play-offs this season.
Dolan said, through a statement issued by Rollits Solicitors on his behalf: "I have never discussed the possibility of leaving York City with any other club.
"I have had no contact, formal or informal, with Rochdale.
"I have a contract with York City, a club which I am proud to manage, particularly after the players' magnificent efforts last season.
"If permitted to do so, I fully intend to honour my contract.
"I have referred this story to the League Managers' Association for their advice and assistance and accordingly cannot add anything further at this stage."
