Yeovil Town have named Russell Slade as their new manager on a three-year contract, reports BBC Radio Bristol. Slade joins the League One side after leaving Grimsby Town last week, where he failed to agree a new deal.
"The club has made great strides in the last three or four years and has got itself in a situation where it needs to take stock," he told BBC Radio Bristol.
Slade was previously manager at Scarborough and also had spells at Notts County and Sheffield United.
He added: "One or two players have gone but some important characters are still here. �
"So we need to build a nice balance to take us forward. The main priority is have a certain degree of stability.
"We need to bring in some new faces, and we're working hard and I'll be talking with one or two on Thursday."
Former Glovers manager Steve Thompson - who took over from Gary Johnson - has agreed to stay on at Huish Park as assistant boss.
Thompson's number two Kevin Hodges is leaving the club and is now serving out a six-month notice.
