"We did OK in spells in the first half and coming back from two goals down was achievable, but we've never been beaten like that before and we're all hurting.

"The pitch was playable at the start but got worse as the game went on and the players could have been injured. It was never going to be a proper game.

"The game is all about results and the board have been brilliant to me."
