Sutton rejected St Mirren's contract offer in favour of a move to England |
Wycombe Wanderers have signed St Mirren striker John Sutton. Sutton, who was once on Tottenham's books and has played for Millwall, rejected the offer of a new deal with the Scottish Premier League side.
The 23-year-old is the brother of Aston Villa's former Celtic and Norwich striker Chris.
Wycombe boss Paul Lambert told the club website: "We had to work very hard to get John because there was a lot of competition for his signature."
St Mirren would only have been due compensation if the striker signed for another Scottish club.
Sutton, who began his career with Tottenham before heading for Raith Rovers and Millwall, joined the Buddies from Dundee in 2005.
