Johnson has only ever played for Wycombe

The bid for Johnson, who has a year to run on his existing contract, was rejected by the Wycombe board.

"Roger is our captain. He's a committed player and we want to keep him at the club," managing director Steve Hayes told Wycombe's website.

Johnson, 23, has spent all of his career, so far, with Wycombe, starting almost 150 league games for the club.
