Wrexham lost just their second pre-season game at the Alexandra Stadium as two strikes in the opening 18 minutes won the game for Crewe Alexandra.

Calvin Zola opened the scoring in the 13th minute after Shaun Muller headed on Ashley Westwood's ball for the Crewe striker to fire past Scott Shearer.

Shaun Miller added a second for the League Two side five minutes later with a superb solo effort and long-ranger.

Andy Morrell was denied a penalty for the non-league side as Crewe held on.
