A Cledan Davies strike sent Blues Square Premier side Wrexham to defeat in a pre-season clash at Aberystwyth Town's Park Avenue ground.

The midfielder side-footed past Chris Maxwell in the 77th-minute to win it for the Welsh Premier League club.

But Wrexham boss Dean Saunders was undaunted by the loss.

Saunders told the Wrexham website: "We got from the game what we wanted and that was a good workout after two days of hard training locally."
