O'Leary played more than 300 games for hometown club Swansea

Former Swansea City duo Kristian O'Leary and Dennis Lawrence are training with Wrexham.

But manager Dean Saunders has yet to decide whether the moves are to be more permanent.

"Kristian is not fit at the moment but I'm going to give him a chance to get fit and then have a look at the situation then," said Saunders.

"He is certainly the type of player we need. He is aggressive but he can play football as well."

O'Leary, 32, has come to the Racecourse after being released by Swansea City earlier this season.

The Port Talbot product has also had spells on loan to Cheltenham Town and more recently Leyton Orient.

"He is big, 6ft 2in, he can play centre back, can play in midfield anywhere," added Saunders.

"He has played a lot of games in the Championship. He has been at Swansea 15 years.

Lawrence, 35, is back at the Racecourse where he was captain under former manager Denis Smith.

He spent much of last season on loan at Crewe but could not agree terms in the summer after being released by Swansea.

"Dennis is coming in training, he isn't doing anything at the minute," added Saunders.

"He is a good character to have around the place. We don't know if that is going to go anywhere. We'll see what happens."

Saunders also confirmed that he will be looking to bring players in during the close season with the emphasis on goal scorers.

"I haven't got enough players who can get goals," said the former Wales striker.

"So I have to look at that and address it. I think we need three or four players. I will be looking at that in the summer.

"We will be looking for some strong-minded men who can get on the end of things and score the goals. The chances we have been creating are unbelievable.

"I have got to get a few players who can get goals out of nothing.

"Defensively we can get better but I will take the goals against next year.

"This club has had a disaster and I'm trying to get them out of it."
