Lamine Sakho missed an early penalty as Wrexham squandered a great chance to beat Altrincham and progress into the FA Trophy second round.
Sakho fired wide in the second minute after Trinidad & Tobago midfielder Silvio Spann was fouled in the box.
Mansour Assoumani had a chance cleared off the line before Wes Baynes had another penalty claim turned down.
Baynes hit the post after Sakho failed to convert Adrian Cieslewicz's cross so the tie will be replayed on Tuesday.
Wrexham manager Dean Saunders said: "It was a good start for us but the penalty has not gone in.
"We've had enough chances to win the game as Manny had an open goal and Mike Williams missed an open goal while Wes hit the post from five yards.
"We were defensively sound and our keeper didn't have a lot to do."
