Russell's move follows the failure to agree a deal for Dean Bouzanis
Wrexham's search for a second keeper has ended with trialist Sam Russell agreeing a one-year deal at the club.
The former Middlesbrough, Darlington and Rochdale stopper, 26, has impressed in two recent friendlies for Wrexham.
"To be honest no-one needed to sell the place to me, it does that itself," said Russell. "It's great to be here and I'm looking forward to the new season."
Wrexham had hoped to secure promising Liverpool keeper Dean Bouzanis, 18, on loan, but the move fell through.
Bouzanis arrived at Liverpool from the New South Wales Institute of Sport, although he was loaned to Sydney FC until his 17th birthday.
Bouzanis, regarded by Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez as one of the best young goalkeepers in the world, is eligible to play internationally for Australia and Greece.
