Austrian teenager Besian Idrizaj struck a hat-trick as Liverpool got their pre-season off to a winning start with a 3-2 win away at Wrexham. After just four minutes Jordy Brouwer helped on Jermaine Pennant's cross for the 19-year-old Idrizaj to smash in.
Pennant then produced two more fine crosses that Idrizaj headed home.
Eifion Williams opened his Wrexham account after half-time, seizing on keeper Martin Hansen's scuffed kick, before adding a fine late lob.
