Ferguson was fuming after Saturday's defeat to Leyton Orient |
Wrexham have played down a row between captain Darren Ferguson and coach Brian Carey at the end of Saturday's defeat to Leyton Orient at the Racecourse. Assistant manager Kevin Russell said the dressing room incident was nothing more than a "heated debate".
He laughed off rumours that Ferguson had been sacked for punching Carey.
"I don't know where that's come from. Everything has been blown out of all proportion. Nothing major happened," Russell told BBC Wales Sport.
"It was nothing more than what happens every Saturday in the dressing room.
"We were disappointed that we were beaten and there was frustration among all the players. We felt we deserved something out of the game.
"There were heated arguments, but not only involving Darren Ferguson.
"If we haven't got any passion in the dressing room and a will to win, I would be gutted."
