Wolves have signed Barnsley winger Adam Hammill for an undisclosed fee on a three-and-a-half-year contract.
Hamill, who turns 23 on Tuesday, could make his Wolves debut on Saturday against Liverpool, the team he began his career with as a trainee.
"Wolves are a massive club and I'm pleased to be getting the chance to try and play Premier League football," he told the club's website.
"I think my ambitions go hand in hand with the club's."
Hammill, who has scored eight goals for Barnsley in the Championship so far this season, also revealed he is a fan of Wolves manager Mick McCarthy's methods.
"I've spoken to Mick and am looking forward to meeting him," he said.
"I've heard he's honest and will tell you things you don't want to hear at times but he's straight down the middle and fair which is what everyone wants as a player."
The former England Under-19 international was also linked with West Ham, Blackpool and Nottingham Forest.
