Wolves goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann is considering whether to retire from the United States international team.
Hahnemann, 37, knows Everton's Tim Howard is established as the USA's first choice keeper, with Aston Villa's Brad Guzan also in contention.
Capped only eight times, he said: "I haven't played the last few times I've been called up and travelled. You question whether it's worth going.
"So I don't know [about my future]. We'll see."
Seattle-born Hahmenann, who was part of the USA squad for the 2006 and 2010 World Cups, added: "Do you take yourself out of the running?
"The way I left it was I told [USA coach] Bob Bradley 'If you need me, give me a call'.
"Tim has been number one for a while and they've got Brad Guzan coming through who's a good keeper, I think they're okay.
"I was glad we didn't have a game in the last international break and I didn't have to fly back [from] somewhere. It was nice to have a rest."
Ex-Reading keeper Hahnemann played his first three matches for the USA in 1993 then waited nearly nine years before being picked again in June 2003.
He joined Wolves in June 2009 as back-up to Wayne Hennessey, but has established himself as boss Mick McCarthy's number one.
