Craddock return pleases McCarthy

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy was impressed with Jody Craddock's return to the side in the 2-2 draw with Cardiff City at Molineux.

Centre-back Craddock, 33, made only his fifth appearance of an injury-hit season, partnering Christophe Berra.

"I just felt we needed that experience, we've been shipping goals in," McCarthy told BBC WM.

"We still shipped two, but nothing to do with Jody Craddock that's for sure - I thought he had a really good game."

The Wolves boss was also reasonably happy with a point on a weekend that saw his side's main promotion rivals slipping to defeat.

Reading and Birmingham have got to win their games in hand and who's to say that's going to happen?

Reading were beaten at home by Bristol City and remain five points adrift of Wolves with two games in hand.

Birmingham City suffered a 1-0 reverse at Coventry and go into their midweek trip to Crystal Palace four points behind the Molineux club with just a single game in hand.

"It's another point," said McCarthy. "The two chasing us didn't get one did they?

"It leaves us with Reading and Birmingham chasing us - they've got to win their games in hand and who's to say that's going to happen?"

Wolves are at home again this weekend, taking on strugglers Plymouth Argyle.
