Wolves new boy Sam Vokes said he was delighted to have scored his first goal for the club, even though he was playing through pain at the time.
The 18-year-old was about to come off with a dead leg when he found the net in Saturday's 3-0 win at Kilmarnock.
"It was good to get a goal and nice to get it out of the way," Vokes told the club's website.
"I got the dead leg a couple of minutes before and I knew the gaffer was going to call me off."
Another summer signing Chris Iwelumo scored twice for Mick McCarthy's side, proving that the former Republic of Ireland boss is spoilt for choice with a strikeforce that also includes Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Andy Keogh.
"I think the gaffer wanted to set out with four strikers to work with and different types which can only be good for the club in giving him options," Vokes said.
