Michael Kightly could miss all Wolves' four Christmas games |
Wolves are expecting to have to face Christmas without Michael Kightly. The England under-21 winger has already missed five games with torn ankle ligaments, which he suffered in the derby draw with West Brom last month.
"Kites might be another couple of weeks yet," Wolves manager Mick McCarthy told the Express and Star.
Meanwhile McCarthy is hoping that captain Jody Craddock will now be fit to return after four games out with a groin problem.
 | Michael Kightly scored eight goals in 26 games last season. This term he has netted three in 19. Wolves have conceded fewer goals (19) than any team in the Championship. Only three teams in the Championship (Leicester, Norwich and QPR) have scored less goals. |
While Craddock is expected to be fit for the televised visit of struggling Leicester City this Saturday, it is expected that Kightly will miss all four games over the festive period.
"We do miss a lot with him being out, because he drags the ball up the field and takes people on," McCarthy added.
"Perhaps we havent got that at the moment but against QPR we created the chances, we just couldnt finish them."
 | Were not prolific. If we were wed be further up the league |
"People think Its QPR but, if you look at the league, its so close.
"We knew it would be tough and it was one of those games where Ill take the draw and the point. We certainly didnt want to lose again having lost the two prior."
"Weve only scored 20 goals. Were not prolific. If we were wed be further up the league.
"But were just continuing to strive to improve our goalscoring record, well do it on the training ground and by getting players into positions where they can score.
"Its not that we dont create chances, because we do. Its not because we try and be defensive in games because we dont either.
"I dont think its a physchological thing for the team."
