Legendary Wolves striker Steve Bull MBE has been made an honorary vice-president of the club.
He said he was shocked when he received the news from owner and president Sir Jack Hayward last week.
"I'm not sure what it means, and whether I have to sit with posh people at matches! But I'm going to enjoy it," he told the club's website.
Bull celebrates a 20-year association with Wolves with a special anniversary game against Aston Villa this Saturday.
He is the club's second vice-president - sharing the honour with cricket star Rachael Heyhoe-Flint.
