Wolves and Wales goalkeeper Paul Jones will miss the beginning of the new season after fracturing his cheekbone in Saturday's friendly win over Dundee. Jones, 38, will also struggle to be fit for the World Cup qualifier with England in Cardiff on 3 September.
Wolves manager Glenn Hoddle said: "Paul will be out for possibly six to eight weeks which is very disappointing.
"We've now got to try and look to bring a keeper in and we've not had much luck in the transfer market as it is."
Jones, who was loaned out to Watford last season, was set to begin the season as cover for first choice keeper Michael Oakes.
His injury leaves Hoddle with teenager Carl Ikeme and the injured Matt Murray as back-ups.
"Carl Ikeme hasn't got hasn't got enough experience yet if anything happens to Oaksie, and Matt (Murray) won't be ready for a few months so we've got to bring someone in," added Hoddle.
Jones lost his place in the Wales team to Danny Coyne last season, but was expected to be included in the squad to face England at the Millennium Stadium.
