Hoddle unlikely to sign Richards
Dean Richards
New Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle has ruled out an immediate move for Tottenham's out-of-favour defender Dean Richards.

Hoddle managed Richards during his time as Southampton boss and later signed the centre-half for Spurs.

But Hoddle said: "Deano's out of the team at the moment so I suppose people will put two-and-two together.

"It's not something I've been thinking about at this moment in time because I'm still in the process of assessing the squad."

Hoddle was appointed as the permanent successor to Dave Jones at Molineux on a six-month contract.

And he vowed to give all the current Wolves players a chance to impress.

"I have to be fair to the players who are already here and who are entitled to a decent crack of the whip," he added.

"I've told the players they can all draw a line under the past and start with a clean slate under a new manager."
