Wolves striker Dean Sturridge said Harry Redknapp and Jim Smith would be the right men to guide the Molineux club back to the Premiership.

The duo have been tipped to succeed Dave Jones and Sturridge said: "They have had great times, they know the game and what they want from players.

"Their teams play with lots of pace and passion, show a lot of character and put the opposition on the back foot.

"Those are exactly the qualities you need to get out of this division."

Redknapp has been linked with a move to managerless Wolves after quitting Portsmouth last week.

Sturridge, who played under Smith at Derby, added: "We all know Harry's reputation and qualities. His CV is exceptional.

"To do what he has done at Portsmouth is fantastic."
