Wolves defender Joleon Lescott will miss the rest of the season after having surgery on his knee in America. The 21-year-old starred in Wolves' promotion campaign last season but has been unable to play in the Premiership this term.
Lescott had surgery in the summer and had been set to return to training in October, only to suffer another new injury to his right knee.
And the club are determined not rush him back into action too soon.
The surgery was performed by specialist Dr Richard Steadman and is thought to have been a success.
"The operation went well," Wolves manager Dave Jones told the club's official website.
"They found a crack within the cartilage which is on the surface of the joint, and that's a fresh injury to the one that led to the boy having the two operations over the summer.
"It's not worth putting a timescale on how long Jo will be out again just yet.
"The most important thing is that the operation went well and once he's back in our care we can then look at the X-rays and see how everything has gone."
