MK Dons saw off League One leaders Swansea to reach Wembley

The Dons lost the second-leg 1-0 on Monday as the tie finished 1-1 on aggregate but won a penalty shoot-out to reach the 30 March final.

"We've won a game we fully deserved and we're going to Wembley," said Mathias.

"As staff we have given it a low profile in the last few weeks but now are there it is very exciting."

The Dons, currently top of League Two, will play either Grimsby or Morecambe in the final.

Jason Scotland had scored for the Swans from the penalty spot after Keith Andrews brought down Andy Robinson.

But Willy Gueret saved the decisive penalty from Scotland during the shoot-out - before Drewe Broughton scored the decisive kick from 12 yards.

"Willy's pulled out an absolutely fantastic save to win us the tie," added Mathias.

"Drewe's great at penalties, he had the bottle to go up and take a fifth one, which is a massive thing to do."
