 Lee McCulloch celebrates scoring for Wigan in the Premiership |
Wigan midfielder Lee McCulloch has signed a new three-year contract. The Scotland international had two years left on his original deal but has been given improved terms and an extra year to stay at the Premiership club.
McCulloch, 28, told Wigan's website: "I've fulfilled my ambition of playing in the Premiership and for my country - why would I want to leave?"
Boss Paul Jewell added: "Lee is one of my most consistent performers and he sums up what this club is all about."
Jewell added: "He has talent in abundance, a terrific attitude and commitment and is the model pro.
"He can play in midfield or as a striker and is a player who is extremely valued here."
McCulloch joined the Latics from Scottish side Motherwell for �700,000 in March 2001 and has made 211 appearances, scoring 41 goals in the process.
