Jewell will be looking for new recruits while working for the BBC |
Wigan manager Paul Jewell says he will be keeping his eyes open for potential transfer targets when he is working for the BBC at the World Cup in Germany. Jewell is part of Five Live's commentary team and told the club website he would also be talent spotting for next season's campaign.
"We've already made bids totalling 14m this summer and I expect to be doing more business in Germany," he said.
"No-one worries more about this club and bringing in players than me."

Wigan were one of the clubs vying to sign Andy Johnson before he chose to join Everton, and Jewell says the fact that they were even among the contenders shows they are now a big-time club.
"Although everyone here was disappointed he chose Everton, it shows how ambitious we are and how far we have come that we are in with a serious chance of getting players of his calibre," said Jewell.
"We already have a number of targets in mind and will be doing everything we can to bring them to Wigan.
"I've sensed some frustration among supporters, and it's the same things that were being said last summer.
"There has to be an element of trust from the fans but we are competing with some of the biggest clubs in the country for the right players."
