Roberts admits he is unsure where his future lies |
Wigan boss Paul Jewell says he is keen for striker Jason Roberts to extend his contract in the summer. Roberts' existing deal expires at the end of next season and Jewell wants the 28-year-old, who has scored 14 goals this season, to stay at the JJB.
"Jason's contract has a year to go and hopefully in the summer we can sit down and give him a new one," he said.
"That's what we want to do. We want to keep our better players, and at the same time improve the squad."
Roberts has admitted he is unsure about what his future holds.
In his column for BBC Sport he said: "I have one year left on my contract at Wigan and when you go into the final 12 months of a contract the situation is always delicate.
"I have to look to the future. We shall have to wait and see what happens."
