Wigan striker Jason Roberts said he would welcome any move to bring back former strike partner Nathan Ellington to the JJB Stadium. Ellington, who joined West Brom in the summer for 3m, has struggled to pin down a first-team place at the Baggies after knee and shoulder injuries.
Roberts told BBC Sport: "Obviously I would love to have him back.
"Me and Nath were really close and he's a fantastic player. It would be like having a member of the family back."
Ellington, 24, scored 24 goals last season to help Wigan claim a place in the Premiership.
But he decided to move to The Hawthorns as he was unhappy with Wigan's offer of a new contract.
Since then he has started only one Premiership game for Bryan Robson's side.
But Roberts added: "We speak nearly every day and he is doing fine."
