West Ham winger Luis Boa Morte made his comeback in a reserve game against Wolves on Tuesday night after being out for eight months with a knee injury.

The Portuguese international damaged the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee against Tottenham in a tournament in China in July 2009.

Boa Morte, 32, played the first half at Telford's New Bucks Head ground before being replaced by Anthony Edgar.

Wolves, with seven full internationals in their side, won the match 4-1.

Boa Morte has won 26 caps and scored two goals for his country and featured at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

The former Sporting Lisbon player began his career in English football with Arsenal in 1997 before having a brief spell at Southampton.

He then spent six years at Fulham and joined West Ham for £5m in 2007.

Boa Morte was a first-team regular for the next two seasons before being hampered by the pre-season injury.
