West Ham midfielder Valon Behrami made his comeback for the reserves against Birmingham on Tuesday after six months out with knee ligament damage.

The Switzerland international, who was injured against Manchester City in March, played 60 minutes of the 6-0 win at Upton Park.

Afterwards, he said he was fit to play first-team football again but was not setting himself any target return date.

"I am not scared of my injury now," the 24-year-old told the club website.

Zavon Hines scored a hat-trick and new signing Alessandro Diamanti netted two free-kicks in a resounding victory for the Hammers' second string team.

Another new arrival from Italy, 17-year-old defender Davide Ferrari, made his debut after joining on loan from Brescia on a one-year deal.

Ferrari's move, which could turn into a permanent transfer, was completed before the transfer window shut but could only be made public after international clearance was received.
